Classic FM mag. will cease publication with the April 2012 issue.Subscribers are offered a transfer to Gramophone, which I shall not be taking up.

Hi

If it is any consolation,Classic FM Magazine (which previously had done Katherine proud) appears to have been doing its best to ignore her over the last couple of years.I doubt if she will fare any better with Gramophone-which tends to favour the heavier Radio 3 type of classical market.

Hi Oliver

Yes, I got a letter from them informing me about the change.

Take care

Yes it is a shame. I think it is a good quality magazine. Plus with the added bonus that Katherine may make a surprise appearance of course!

I also liked them including a cd with some (if not all) copies, but perhaps this reflected in the slightly high price which can't have helped sales. Mind you, all 'glossys' are pretty expensive now aren't they?!

I can't see there being a better read for classical music lovers.

Hi, Heidi,

I agree with everything that have mentioned in your post.

But I must admit that since Katherines ''Believe" album was not accepted as being 'Classical enough' (or for whatever reasons) I stopped buying the Classical FM Mag' on a regular basis and only purchased a copy if someone on the KJ Forum mentioned that an article on Her was inside that month's copy.

Cheers Les.

Hi, Oliver, Tricia,

I managed to get the last copy of Classic FM for April 2012 - Ironically the March issue was still on the shelf.

There are Articles on - 'Saving our ageing Male voice choirs' mainly concerns Wales & Cornwall. a 2 page Tribute to Wales 'the Land of song' with a nice photograph of Katherine (bit windswept but nice all the same). Katherine appears in the Classic FM chart :- at No.9 One fine day & No.12 Sweetest love.

Other Articles include - Maria Callas - Sir Colin Davis, All in all an Excellent Classic FM Magazine just a shame that this is the Last edition.

Cheers, Les

I went to buy the last copy (i.e the April edition) on Thurs, but only saw a few March issues on the shelf. Has it just come out then?
